With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Brigitte Merz-Zwick (Ypsilanti, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 14, 2025 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Brigitte is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Brigitte's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her mother Charlotte Zwick. She is survived by: her father Jakob Zwick; her husband George "Russ" Merz; her son Alexander Merz (Kaylan Mitchell); her grandson Theodore "Teddy" Merz; and her sister Brunhilde Reitmeier-Zwick. She is also survived by her family and the many dear friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the American Cancer Society, Humane World for Animals, and the World Wildlife Fund are sincerely appreciated.
