He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Frank and Minnie Ella Backus (Riddle); and his son Charlton Ashley Backus. He is survived by: his daughter Alicia Goodman; his grandchildren, Blake, George and Hunter Goodman; his great grandchildren, Saniyya and George Quinton; and his sister Geraldine "Maxie" Malvasia. He is also survived by other sister, and also numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
