With sadness, we share the passing of Douglas Neil Batey Sr. (Ypsilanti, Michigan). Douglas, born on October 26, 1948, passed away on September 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Batey and Mary Elizabeth Batey (Simpkins); and his brother Johnnie Batey. He is survived by: his wife Debi; his children, Kimberly Batey, Michael Boatright (Megan), Dougie Batey II (Ashley W.), Kyle Batey (Ashley) and Elizabeth Batey (Josh Milligan); his nephew Daniel Prichard; his grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, Nathan, Christian, ShyAnn, Kayli, Evy, Malia, Skyla and Avery; his great grandchildren, Kaesen, Tanner, Tucker, Kamora and Willow; and his siblings, Ronnie, Daryl Batey (Karen) and Janet Parris (Danny).
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stark Funeral Home (101 S Washington St, Ypsilanti, MI 48197).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Michigan Chapter (https://www.alz.org).
