She was predeceased by: her parents, Estill Hughes and Olive Hughes (Nunemaker); her siblings, Victor Hughes, Fred Hughes, Bill Hughes, Loretta Roach, Dorthy Hughes, Jeanetta Meade, Alma Gay and Dan Hughes; her parents-in-law, Jesus Sanchez and Elvia Sanchez; and her siblings-in-law, Jesus Sanchez Perez and Georgia Sanchez.
She is survived by: her husband Juan Sanchez (John); her children, Fredy Avila (Roberta Charlie) and Lic Elizabeth Pecina (Martin Salas); her siblings, Ralf Hughes (Wilma), Don Hughes (Rose), Betty Rudy and Patsy Becerra; and her siblings-in-law, Carlos Sanchez (Maria Angelita), Javier Sanchez (Feliciana), Lino Sanchez (Irma), Rosa Icela Sanchez (Lorenzo Castro), Catalina Hooker (Daniel) and Mireya Sanchez-Condash (George). She is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren.
