She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Sherwood and Irene Sherwood (Durham); and her siblings, Howard, Chet, Bud and Lucille Pruitt (Sherwood).
She is survived by: her spouse Thomas Burns; her children, Betty Whiteside (Howard) of Ypsilanti and Mark Burns (Michele) of Jackson; her grandchildren, Jeremy Fugate (Sammy), Sarah Fugate, Mark Burns II (Denise Daly), Michael Palmer-Burns (Diane Louvar), JD Whiteside and Laura Bedingfield (Josh); and her siblings, Earl Sherwood and Pat Young. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
