He is survived by: his wife Kate Happel (Densel Forsythe); his siblings, Brian Happel (Theresa) and Melaine Wright (Marc); his sisters-in-law, Diane Happel, Char Shaffer (Rick), Ruth Booth, Patricia Snyder, Marion Gentry and Kathy Densel; his sons, Brett Happel (Emily) and Matt Happel; his stepchildren, Jamie Coomes (Sam), Trisha Terris (Jason) and Ryan Forsythe (Elizabeth); and his grandchildren, Logan Coomes (Chloe), Dylan Coomes (Kristen), Ethan Coomes, Katie Coomes, Grant Terris, Jack Terris, Ryan Terris, Hayden Forsythe, Cami Forsythe, Jacob Forsythe, Tanner Smith, Paxton Happel, Finley Happel, Maddox Happel and Harper Happel. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
