He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Nichols and Vivian Nichols (Perry); and his brother Philip Nichols. He is survived by: his wife Denise Marie Nichols (Wegrzyn); his children, Rhonda Fairley of Belleville, Michigan and Dennis Cabay (Starr) of Apollo Beach, Florida; his grandchildren, Shara Cabay and Shaune Fairley; and his great grandchild Tre Fairley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Michigan or the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
