She was predeceased by: her father Preston Peterson, Sr.; her stepfather Samuel Blake; her brother William Peterson; her niece Melissa Blake; George "Ronnie" Fowlkes and Bobby Jackson.
She is survived by: her mother Mary Louise Peterson (Sharon); her children, Derrick Fowlkes (Clara) of Panama City and Carmen Fowlkes of Ann Arbor; her grandchildren, David and Abigail of Panama City; her siblings, Preston Peterson Jr. (Linda) of West Bloomfield, Ronnie Peterson (Gloria) of Ypsilanti, Michael Peterson, Jeffrey Blake of Ypsilanti and Karen Blake of Ann Arbor; and her nieces, Angela and Danielle. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
