He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Jane; his parents, Charles "Barky" Barksdale and Nellie Mae Henry; and his children, David L. Barksdale and Candace Sue Brightwell.
He is survived by: his children, Bonita Bussard (Dan), Dennis K. Barksdale, Denise A. Clark and N. Doreen Barksdale; his children-in-law, Hugh Brightwell and Karen Johnson; and his friends, Costin, Kate Dumitrache, Jody Nie and Shera Williams. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
