He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce; his grandson Alexander Gabier (Alec); his parents, Elsie Kortering and Herman Kortering; his brother Laverne; and his siblings-in-law, Leona Kortering, Christal Broekhuis, Grada and Henry Voetberg.
He is survived by: his children, Randy (Sue Kortering), Larry (Pat Kortering), Lisa (Jeff Gabier) and Richelle (Jon Hofman); his grandchildren, Stephanie, Carl Bussema, Matt, Christina Kortering, Katie, Adam Hukkala, Taylor Hofman and Brianna Hofman; and his great grandchild Esther Kortering.
