She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Diepenhorst and Grace Diepenhorst (Gruppen); her son-in-law Ronald Harmsen; and her great grandchildren, Morgan Nicole Essink and Emma Grace Harmsen.
She is survived by: her children, Nancee, Ken Kleinheksel of Hamilton, Alan, Jacie Kapenga of West Olive, Michael and Sandy Kapenga Holland; her grandchildren, Kari Essink (Matt), Ryan Harmsen (Melissa), Chad Harmsen (Angel), Robb Harmsen (Katie), Cory Harmsen (Brianne), Lisa Huizenga (Derrick), Carla Borr (Tim), Patrick Kapenga (Cherith), Chris Kapenga (Cari), Connie Flinton (Troy), Paul Kapenga, Cindy Lenting (Dave), Clint Kapenga (Jamie), Lisa Gerrits (Matt), Dave Kapenga (Wendi), Amy Pierce (Jason), John Kapenga (Christy) and Megan De Vries (Ryan); and her sister Judy Vander Steen (Dan). She is also survived by 45 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Yntema Funeral Home (251 S State St, Zeeland, MI 49464). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church (4055 112th Ave, Holland, MI 49424).
