She was predeceased by: her former husband Nelfurd Kraak; and her son-in-law Thomas Tapley. She is survived by: her husband John Heuvelman; her daughters, Cheryl Tapley, Sandi (Jerry Ray) and Vicky Brouwer (Larry Vera); and her grandchildren, Donald, Lori Tapley, Melissa DeJonge, Laura Norman, Tammie, Jacob Jacobs, Corey, Katrina Volkers, Stephanie, Jacob DeBoer, Derek, Gemini Brouwer, Beau, Charity Vera and Mitchell Vera. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; and many extended family.
