He is survived by: his wife Joan; his son Michael (Amy Overweg); his great grandchildren, Noah, Kathyrn Overweg, Nathan Overweg (Courtney Kayser), Janelle Piffer (Alex Jansen (Max) and Jeremy Piffer; his brother Kenneth Overweg; his siblings-in-law, Lenora Bell, Sally Van Ess, David and Diane DeVries; and his son-in-law Jon (Deborah Piffer).
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Yntema Funeral Home (251 S State St, Zeeland, MI 49464). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Community Reformed Church (10376 Felch St, Zeeland, MI 49464).
Memorial contributions may be given to St Jude Children's Hospital.
