She is survived by: her husband Marvin Merkens of Ada; her children, Michelle "Missy" Okeson (Keith) of Roseau, MN and Jay Merkens (Ann) of Ada; her grandchildren, Taylor Hahn (Marshall), Tanner Okeson (Kelsie), Joel Merkens (Liz) and Lexi Merkens (Nic Prothero); her great grandchildren, Nora, Everett, Ruby, Henry, Annie and Liana; her sisters, Diana Woltjer and Charlene Brandt (Dennis); and her sisters-in-law, Karen Fjeld and Darlene Fjeld. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
