He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Gilbertson and Laura Gilbertson (Strand); his grandparent Thor; his wife Dolores; his friend Lois Sahl; and his siblings, Thor, Esther Kay, Gladys, Allen, Anga and Jarl.
He is survived by: his daughters, Patricia Kerlin (John), Melissa Zehr (David), Barbara Delaney (Michael) and Gretchen Rockstad (Erik). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
