He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Gilk and Clara Gilk (Weinmann); his children, Roland and Mary; and his in-laws, Herbert Gilk (Gertie), Lucetta Lischwe (Joe), Oliver Gilk and Aldamae Mayers (Ray).
He is survived by: his wife Tillie Gilk of Albany; his children, Susan Spanier (Dale) of Paynesville, Janet Notch (Steve) of Freeport, Linda Toenies (Leon) of Albany, Joseph Gilk (Sandy) of St. Joseph and John Gilk (Tammy) of Richmond; and his sister Connie Chock (Gene) of Albany. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred to Holy Family School in Albany and Quiet Oaks Hospice House.
