With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald George Richtsmeier (Albert Lea, Minnesota), who passed away on March 9, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Richtsmeier and Helen Richtsmeier; his parents-in-law, Irene and Lloyd Lacour; his brother Russell Richtsmeier; and his sister-in-law Roberta.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Lacour; his nieces and nephews, Chris Richtsmeier (Denise), Darla Thiessen (Jeff), Lynda Krumm (Dean), Dale Richtsmeier (Kate), Georgia England (Mike), Dan Richtsmeier (Heide), Deeann Hompe and David Kahn; and his sister-in-law Barb Meanes.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to be made to the Hollandale Heritage Center, or the Ackley, Iowa Heritage Center.
