He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernel Nelson and Fern Nelson; his siblings, Marilyn Thomas (Jean) and Kermit Vincent; his grandparents, Oliver, Mabel Nelson, Nelson and Mary Hutchins; his parents-in-law, Jewell and Lillian Thompson; his siblings-in-law, Helen Thompson and Denny Steckleberg; and his pet Lady.
He is survived by: his significant other LouJean Nelson (Thompson); his daughters, Rhonda Jensen (James), Julie Patino, Susan Walters (Brad) and Brenda Madson (Vinnie); his grandchildren, Nicole, Travis, Sabrina, Jennifer, Carlos, Kristin, Joy, Joshua, Rebekah, Justin, Matt, Whitney, Amanda and Makayla; and his siblings-in-law, Judean "Geno" Thompson (Carol), Gary Thompson (Sandy), Jerome "JB" Thompson (Jen) and Hertha Steckleberg. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, the Freeborn Co. Humane Society, or the Albert Lea Legion Riders.
