He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Ayers and Alice Ayers (Prange); his former wife Janet Ayers (Miller); the mother of his children Florence Grunewald (Braun); his parents-in-law, Chris and Ellis Miller; his stepdaughter Bonnie Bolinger (Jerry); his brother-in-law Tim Heidtman; and his grandsons, Justin McSorley and Karl Jacobson.
He is survived by: his former wife Florence "Flossie" Braun; his fiancée Gwen Stallkamp; his children, Georgia Cordingly (Barry), Curtis Ayers (Korrine), Phyllis Hoyt (Tim) and Laura Ayers; his stepdaughter Connie Jacobson (Larry); and his siblings, Manville Ayers (Barbara), Clarence Ayers (Janice), Joyce Heidtman and Kathryn Ayers. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren.
