The memory of Robert Schmidt of Albert Lea, Minnesota, who passed away on November 24, 2025 at the age of 85, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Schmidt and Dorothy Schmidt; his brothers, Melvin Schmidt and Kenneth Schmidt; and his sister-in-law Lenae Schmidt.

He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Bell; his children, Wendi Cancalosi (Tom), Tamera Schmidt, Neal Schmidt (Kathy), Jamie Tufte (Amy) and Lance Tufte (Kasey); his grandchildren, April Brandt (John), Dane Nelson, Dylan Shemon, Dominic Shemon, Tommy Cancalosi, Heidi Cancalosi, Alyssa Macy (Mike), Trevor Schmidt (Brynn), Kaili Schmidt, Lyrik Klingl (Justin), Vedder Tufte (Maddie), Gavin Tufte (Mallory), Tanner Tufte (Alex), Riley Tufte (Morgan) and Tessa Tufte (Josh); his great grandchildren, Madalyn Brandt, Evan Brandt, Evalyn Brandt, Ariella Brandt, Parker Nelson, Sofia Macy, McClain Macy, Brooklynn Schmidt, Hendon Schmidt, Linkin Klingl, Otto Tufte, Bowen Tufte of Jax Tufte, T. J, Cal Tufte and Emery Tufte; his sister Carol Timm (Cliff); and his sister-in-law Annette Schmidt. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church (924 Bridge Ave, Albert Lea, MN 56007). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
