Doris L. Thompson Obituary

We announce the death of Doris L. Thompson of Alexandria, Minnesota, who passed away on July 4, 2026, at the age of 86. Doris will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Vickerman and Lucille Vickerman (Johnson); her son DeWayne Noetzelman; her former husband Don Noetzelman; her siblings, Tom Vickerman, Jr. and Theresa Ohnstad; her brother-in-law Darwin Shinn; and her daughter-in-law Jackie Noetzelman.

She is survived by: her husband Roger Thompson; her children, Dawn Kortuem (Greg) of Young America, Todd Noetzelmann (Cherie) of Cave Creek and Lane Noetzelman of Alexandria; her stepdaughters, Kirsten Mahoney (John), Heidi Keller (Craig) and Amanda Ramler (Wayne); her sister Dorothy Shinn of Alexandria; her sister-in-law Pat Vickerman of Alexandria; her grandchildren, Charlie Kortuem (Carly), Tom Kortuem, Ben Kortuem (Whitney), Joey Kortuem (Miatta), Jordan Noetzelman (Amanda), Kelsey Hernandez (Eric), Allie Black (Bennett) and Eric Noetzelman (Flora Kvale); and her stepgrandchildren, Dylan, Brady, Mikayla Mahoney, Nathan, Eleanor, Charles Keller, Madeline, Jakob, Anna and Isaac Ramler. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She enjoyed quilting and sewing and was able to donate 400 homemade t-shirts for children in orphanages in Africa and Haiti.
