She was predeceased by: her parents, Anton Barta and Christine Barta (Zavadil); her husband Reinhart P. Schmidt; her brother Raymond; and her daughter Patty.
She is survived by: her children, Diana Harstad (Doug), John Schmidt (Ruth Ann), David Schmidt, Paul Schmidt and Sherrie Emrud (Steve); and her grandchildren, Jason Harstad, Ryan Harstad, Alan Harstad, Johnathan Harstad, Tony Emrud, Jacob Zimmerli, Daniel Zimmerli, James Andersen, Marie Odermann, Christine Augustine, Emma Schwebach, Joy Gabr and Amy Weltin. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
