He was predeceased by : his parents, Arthur Olson and Celia Olson (Skogen); his parents-in-law, Les and Lila Gilligan; and his brother-in-law Darrell Gilligan.

He is survived by : his wife Carol Gilligan; his sons, Colin Olson (Kristie) and Kelly Olson (Erika); his grandchildren, Madeline, Cooper, Arthur, Signe and Leuis; his siblings, Darell Olson (Paula) and Betty Goyette (Lee); and his siblings-in-law, Robert Gilligan (Tammy), David Gilligan (Barb), Boyd Gilligan (Mindy), Maureen Barnwell (Jim), Rosemarie Hengel (Ronald) and Delrean Gilligan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Memorials are preferred to Minnesota Elks Youth Camp.
