He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerald Ostenson and Mildred Ostenson of Peace Township; and his former wife Kim (Rahl). He is survived by: his daughter Heather Ostenson (Ian Peterson); his granddaughter Lilly of Grand Forks, ND; his son Charlie Rich; his siblings, Debbie Haavisto of Pine City, Kenneth Ostenson (Connie) of Mora, John Ostenson of Mora, Joy Lewis of Mora, Helen Ostenson of Mora, Karrie Letich (Robert) of Mound and David Ostenson of Mora; his aunt Bette Anderson of Mora; his godson Andy Iverson; and his cousin Meyer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces/nephews.
Prior to the pandemic he was excitedly making plans to travel to Hawaii with the same group.
