John Hemquist Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of John Hemquist of Alexandria, Minnesota. John, born on January 27, 1950, passed away on October 13, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember John for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Hemquist and Arlene Hemquist (Moske); his brother Mark; and his nieces and nephews, Rick Klimek, Michael Wendt, Kimberly Klimek and Brieann Wendt.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Chezik of Peter's Catholic Church; and his siblings, Maxine "Mickey" Klimek (Dennis "Denny"), LeRoy "Swede" Hemquist (Nora), Harris "Hank" Hemquist (Sheri) and Mary Wendt (Steve).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lind Family Funeral Home (1623 10th Ave E, Alexandria, MN 56308). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
