He was predeceased by: his mother Delores Vanderwerf (Lieske). He is survived by: his father Warren Vanderwerf of Redwood Falls; his wife Rita Dolan of Michael's Catholic Church; his children, Tim Vanderwerf (Lacey), Molly Ihnen (Matt) and Laura Vanderwerf; his grandchildren, Dawson Vanderwerf, Harper Vanderwerf, Sylvie Vanderwerf, Demi Vanderwerf, Lila Ihnen, Mikah Ihnen, Farrah Ihnen and Shay Ihnen; and his siblings, Doug Vanderwerf, Tom Vanderwerf and Lori Taube. He is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
