He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Pedersen and Aino Pedersen (Sorensen); his wife Marlene Pedersen (Fischbach); his brothers, Donald Pedersen (Barbara), Kenneth Pedersen (Jean) and Eugene; and his brother-in-law Jim Thompson.

He is survived by: his daughter Sharon Lynn Peterson (Steven) of Eden Prairie, MN; his grandchildren, Kirsten Peterson of St. Paul, MN and Kai Peterson (Desiree) of La Farge, WI; his great grandchild Minerva Peterson; his sister Mary Thompson of Detroit Lakes, MN; and his sister-in-law Laurie Fischbach of Cabot, AR..
