He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Richard Birhanzel (Lisa) of Chanhassen and Wendy Birhanzel of Fountain, Colorado; his brother Lonnie Birhanzel (Bev) of Richfield; his grandchildren, Hans Birhanzel (Monica) of Austin, Serena Birhanzel of Chicago and Lars Birhanzel of Malibu, California; his great grandchild Wolfgang; his stepchildren, Jodi Tongen (Todd) of Watson and Malisa Ervin (Pete) of Appleton; his stepgrandchildren, Coral Wehrkamp (Andrew), Crystal Ervin, Morgan Ervin, Alexandra Tongen and Bryce Tongen; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Avery, Scarlett, Oliver, Grace, Arella, River, Parker and Dax. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
