He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Vorste and Alvina Vander Vorste (Lauinger); and his brother Daryl. He is survived by: his brother Craig; his wife Mary Jo Bibby of Brookings; his children, Emily Siira (Andy) of Brandon, MN and Ross Vander Vorste (Hong Tran) of La Crosse, WI; his grandchildren, Wesley, Tyler, Lacey, Huck Siira and Vander Vorste; and his friend Donovan Renner of Central City, SD..

After retirement, Wayne worked part-time for five years at Feeding South Dakota, delivering food donations to small communities throughout the area.
