He was predeceased by : his father Earl Messner; and his parents-in-law, Don House and Rosemary House. He is survived by : his wife Diane Messner; his children, Lissa Messner, Amber Huffman (Ryan), Angie Messner (James), Sarah Tschida (Jay), Drew Messner (Anna) and Laura DeSpain (Chris); his grandchildren, Sterling, Meadow, Ella, Blaze, Quinn, Isabelle and Nora; his mother JoAnne Messner; and his sister Peggy Messner.
