He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Ortiz and Julia Ortiz (Saldaña); and his siblings, Antonio Jr., Pete Ortiz, Emma Vega, Maria Diana Ortiz, Martha Borsvold, Estella Garza and Alicia Cortinas.

He is survived by: his wife Irma Herrera; his daughters, Lisa Ortiz, Isabell Ortiz (Jason Borsvold), Emma Ibarra (Lindomar), Denise Ortiz (Freddie Martinez) and Krystal Gaitan (Paul "Jay"); his grandchildren, Sabrina, Felicity, Jolie, Fay, Gabriel, Gabriella, Samantha, Sidney, Omar, Toni, Emmarie, Lawrence Jr., Zoey, Khloe, Chelsea, Desani, Eviana, Sergio, Paul Aaron, Jaelyn and Miamor; his great grandchildren, Callie, Lilah, Penelope, Athena, Bodhi, Antonio and Aspen; and his siblings, Bertha Mireles, Yolanda Torres, Joe Ortiz, Olivia Luna, Diane Cruz (David), Karen Ortiz (Joe), Jesse Ortiz (Lettie) and Bobby Ortiz.
