He was predeceased by: his parents, Len Helwig and Kay Helwig; and his brother-in-law Bill Piram. He is survived by: his children, Katie of Chatfield and Cuyler of St. Cloud; his former wife Kristin Spain of Maple Lake; and his sisters, Cynthia Piram of Annandale, Corrine "Jo" Stenzel (Craig) of Minneapolis and Colleen "Blondie" Belston (Brent) of Columbia Falls, MT. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
