She was predeceased by: her parents, Cleveland Bryson and Dulcie Bryson of Bloomington; her husband Valton "Val" Sims; and her grandson Nick Sims. She is survived by: her sons, James (Kelley) and Steven (Glenda); and her brothers, Sterl Bryson (Donna) and Jim Bryson (Emilee). She is also survived by three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
