She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, John Bernhardt and Veronica Bernhardt (Stockie); her former life partner William Richter; her husband Donald Hermanson; her son John; her stepson-in-law William King; her granddaughter Lenora Richter; her daughter-in-law Margery Richter; and her stepchildren, Beverly Weber (Steve), Keith Hermanson, Julia Preston (Ron), Joy King and Sonja Holmes.

She made many crocheted hats and donated them to the cancer center, as she was a cancer survivor herself.
