She was predeceased by: her husband Wayne; her parents, Clarence Benson and Helen Benson; and her sisters, Lorraine, Marilyn Brink, Bernetta Huber and LaVonne Sauter.

She is survived by: her children, Kirk (Suzanne), Greta Schramm (David) and Scott (Heidie); her grandchildren, Nathaniel (Diana), Nels Thompson, Eliza Thompson Westermeyer (Zach), Soren, Peter, Annika Schramm, Amanda (Ryan) and Andrew Thompson (Savanna); her great grandchildren, Odin, Conrad Thompson and Howard Westermeyer; and her friend Sue Moberg Swensen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
