He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Clayton, Ruby Okstad, Alfred and Isabelle Hanson; and his cousin Michael Gaylord.
He is survived by: his parents, Richard Okstad and Julie Okstad (Hanson) of Aurora; his children, Tyler Sandys (Kristen) of Coon Rapids and JulieAnna Sandys of Eveleth; and his siblings, Lars Okstad (Ariel) of Biwabik, Eric Okstad (Leah) of Pine Island and Leif Okstad (Rachel) of Aurora. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
