She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Leppanen and Jennie Leppanen (Steckman); her husband Lauri Maki; her siblings, Vickie Klakoski, Loretta Briski and David Leppanen; and her son-in-law Steve Lucia.

She is survived by: her children, Barbara Lucia of Duluth, Kathleen Kangas (Gary) of Hibbing, Calvin Maki (Connie) of Hutchinson, Pamela Kuschner (Jeff) of Hermantown and Gregory Maki of Hibbing; her grandchildren, Melanie (Ryan), Melissa (Nate), Mandy, Dave (Julia), Marc, Becky (Aaron), Eric, Alex (Jace), Mike (Dani) and Tyler; her great grandchildren, David, Brennan, Evan, Daniel, Derek, Kyra, Joseph, Brady, Clark, Daphne, Kruse and Bridger; and her siblings, Darlene Jackson (Mark) and Bill Leppanen (Doris Johnson). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
