She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Hinderaker and Ruth Hinderaker (Larson); her former husband John Van Epps; her husband Sy Halsey; her son John Van Epps; her son-in-law Guy Wentzel; her siblings, Reuben Hinderaker, Harold Hinderaker and Phyllis Hinderaker; and her sisters-in-law, Sharlene Hinderaker, Nancy Hinderaker and Diane Hinderaker.
She is survived by: her daughter Debra Wentzel of Duluth, MN; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeremy, Michael, Anthony, Daniel, Shelly, Paul (Christina) and Steven; and her brothers, Gaylord Hinderaker of Waverly, IA, Charles Hinderaker (Shirley) of Austin, MN and Roger Hinderaker of Shell Rock, IA. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
