She is survived by: her husband Otto F. Volkert; her children, Stephen Volkert (Delene), Michael Volkert (Erin), Charles Volkert (Katrina) and Susan Nelson (Karl); her grandchildren, Kelsey Volkert, Zachary Volkert, Kallie Volkert (Orkun), Dr. Anna Cook (Clint), Jordan Volkert (Abbigail), Bryan Volkert, Adam Volkert (Jasmine), Isaac Nelson and Amelia Jane Nelson; her stepgrandchildren, Alec Castagno (Talia), Lauren Castagno, Josh Castagno, Matt Castagno, Ashley Mendoza (Uzziel), Chelsey Romero (Nicodemus) and Dakota Nelson; her great grandchildren, Jackson and Felix Volkert Wechsler; her stepgrandchildren, Wyatt Cook, Baby Cook, Simeon, Charlotte, Alice Romero, Nicholas, Liam, Jonathan Mendoza, Jackson, Philip Volkert and Lilla Volkert; her sister-in-law Phyllis Volkert; her friend Bonnie Newell (Bill); Karen and Bruce. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the First United Methodist Church of Austin Stained Glass Window Project or to Minnesota Masonic Charities in Betty's memory.
