He was predeceased by: his parents, Ory Ann and Donald Champlin; his brother Daryl Champlin; and his nephew Evan. He is survived by: his wife Julie; his daughters, Nicole Lorentz (Adam) of Holmen, WI and Lisa Trygstad (John) of Lino Lakes, MN; his siblings, Jan Wistrcill (Dave) of Forest Lake, MN, Doug Champlin and David Champlin; his sister-in-law Judy Champlin of Austin, MN; his in-laws, John and Laura Bridley of Santa Barbara, CA; and his grandchildren, Weston, Carson, Jackson, Bode and Scout. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Friends of the Hormel Nature Center or donor's choice.
