With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Maxine Ciola of Austin, Minnesota, born in Fremont, Nebraska, who passed away on December 4, 2023 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Henry Selvy and Amelia Selvy (Nelson); her husband Lou; her children, Sandy Ciola Starns and Louie Ciola, Jr.; her granddaughter Angie Starns Ryan; and her siblings, Rod Selvy and Bonnie Sukstorf.

She is survived by : her children, Mike Ciola of Clear Lake, WI, Denise Ciola (Gene Sonnen) of St. Paul, MN and Dan Ciola (LeAnne) of Austin, TX; her grandson Tony (Cristina); her great grandchildren, Adriana and Anthony; her grandchild Joey; her son Nick Ciola (Jean) of Minnetonka, MN; her grandchildren, Vito, Vinnie and Gianna; her son Joe Ciola (Mali) of Austin, MN; her grandsons, Alexander and Anthony; her daughter-in-law Cindy Gleason (Steve); her grandsons-in-law, Dominic (Molly Hanson) and Louis III (Nicole); and also, Ashley Wolfe (Josh), Anna Jo and Lauren Ryan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
