He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger McConnell and Bessie McConnell (Snellenberger); his son Jerry Olson; and his siblings, Karolyn "Pat" Stookey (John), Dorcas Ann Kipker (Elgin "Kip"), Linda Lou (Ken Kauffman), Sue Ellen McConnell, Gretchen Elaine McConnell, Glenn Robert McConnell (Fannie), Wallace David McConnell (Joy), Horace James "Jim" McConnell (Ann) and John Lawrence McConnell (Joyce).
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Olson; and his children, Heidi McConnell, Susan Olson and Michael Olson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
