He is survived by: his children, Renee Hoeft (Bryan) of Oregon, WI, Jeff Gardner (Nina) of Fairfield, CT and Jared Gardner of Elkton, MD; his grandchildren, Jonathan Hoeft, Natalie Hoeft, Carys Gardner, Jacob Hoeft, Nik Gardner and William Hoeft; his siblings, Marcia Ernst (Mike) of Albertville, MN, Byron Gardner (Debbie) of Andover, MN, Joyce Gardner of Maple Grove, MN and Karen Lammey (John) of Prairie du Chien, WI; and his sisters-in-law, Helen Gardner of Austin, MN and Christine Gardner of Andover, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary (209 2nd Ave NW, Austin, MN 55912). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church (306 2nd St NW, Austin, MN 55912).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army of Austin.
