He was predeceased by: his parents, Alden Qualey and Doris Qualey (Hage); and his siblings-in-law, Cheryl Qualey and Steve Ruble. He is survived by: his significant other Ruth Schmidt; his siblings, Phillip Qualey, Larry Qualey (Bethy) and Cindy Ruble; and his pet Trixie. He is also survived by four nieces and three nephews; Ruth's children and three grandchildren.

Memorials are preferred to St. Croix County Hospice in Wisconsin, Van Transport, or the Mower County Humane Society.
