He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn; his parents, Edgar Guentzel and Harriet Guentzel; and his daughter Jo. He is survived by: his daughters, Melanie Guentzel (Dan Schlagel) and Heather Frank (Scott) of Los Angeles, CA; and his grandchildren, Henrik and Annika. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home - Austin (1801 4th St NW, Austin, MN 55912). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Minnesota State University Mankato, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, or St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin.
