We announce the death of Sylvia Ann Gerhart of Austin, Minnesota, who passed away on August 18, 2026, at the age of 92. Sylvia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Austin Hanson and Evelyn Hanson (Shave); her children-in-law, Denise Gerhart and Bruce Helmbrecht; and her in-laws, Robert and Marlene Gerhart.
She is survived by: her husband Gene Gerhart; her children, Shirley Helmbrecht and Greg Gerhart; her grandchildren, Mark, Jo Tschann (Mark), Sue Jorgenson (Kevin), Laurie Opseth (Dave) and Brian Gerhart (Angie); and her in-laws, Jerome and Mary Gerhart. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Sally requests donations to local food banks, or you may bring bags of non-perishable items to the visitation or church, and they will be distributed.
