Mary K. Schmitt Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary K. Schmitt (Avon, Minnesota), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 11, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Hill and Josephine Hill (Studer); her sister Jeanie Oldenburg (Mike); and her brothers-in-law, George Kierzek, Dewey Hanauer and Nick Reinert.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Schmitt of Avon; her children, Daniel Schmitt of Eden Valley and Laurie Schaefer (Steve Pflueger) of Avon; her grandsons, Cory (Abby) and Dustin (Rainy); her great grandchildren, Riley, Harper and Wesley; her sisters, Donna Kierzek of Holdingford, Mona Hanauer of Avon, Renee Holthaus (LeRoy Krueger) of Pierz, Betty Reinert of South Haven and Pat Faust (Bob) of Sartell; and her siblings-in-law, Joe Holthaus and Clayt Schaefer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Benedict's Catholic Church (212 1st St SW, Avon, MN 56310). A prayer will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
