He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Hanson and Barbara Hanson (Erickson); his former wife Terri Hanson; his brother James Hanson; and his grandparents, Clarence and Alice Hanson.

He is survived by: his sons, Derek Hanson (Jen) of Fridley and Dustin Hanson (Ashley) of Parker's Prairie, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Korra, Lane, Aurora, Sterling and Mia; his brother Ray Hanson (Donna) of Bagley, Minnesota; and his nieces and nephews, Megan, Marlena, Travis, Justin, Chelsie, John and Christie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
