He was predeceased by : his parents, George Mitzner and Lois Mitzner (Manguson); his wife Phyllis Jeske of Peter's Lutheran Church; and his daughter-in-law Jody Mitzner. He is survived by : his daughter Kelley Schallert (Terry) of LaCrosse, WI; his grandchildren, Tiffany Martinez (Daniel), Stephanie Schallert, Courtney Vaaler (Barry) and Stephen Schallert (Michelle); his son Kraig Mitzner of Silverdale, WA; his grandchildren, Stephen Mitzner (Kristina) and Chelsey Scotti (Tony); his daughter Karen Mitzner (Randy) of Burnsville; his grandchildren, Katherine Mitzner, Kirk Mitzner and Nicole Mitzner; his children, Jon Mitzner of Balaton, Kay Mitzner of Burnsville and Joy McKenzie (Eric) of Sartell; his grandchildren, Amelia McKenzie and Matthew McKenzie; his great grandchildren, Gabriel Martinez, Josafina Schallert, Lilah Mitzner, Theodore Mitzner, Skye Scotti and Noah Scotti; and his siblings, Gary Mitzner (Carol) of Sequim, WA and Joan Baack of Balaton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A prayer was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Horvath Remembrance Center (140 2nd St, Balaton, MN 56115). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church (500 Summit Ave, Balaton, MN 56115).
