He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin LeRoy Palmer and Marion Jane Palmer (Jones); his parents-in-law, Ora Hills and Hazel Hills (Doschadis); his grandchildren, Tori and Erin Cossette; his siblings, Donald Palmer, Chester Palmer (Chet) and Eva Lou Stickland (Toddy); and his siblings-in-law, Marlys Palmer, Larry Stickland, Mary Palmer and Gary Cardwell.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Palmer (Hills) of Barnesville; his children, Paula Thimjon (Mark), Julie Cossette (Curt) and Matthew Palmer (Misy); his grandchildren, Brittany Cossette, Austin Cossette, Emily Cossette, Olivia Daugherty (Austin), Keelin Fitzpatrick, Amelia Palmer and Finley Palmer; his great grandchildren, Stella Daugherty, Sunday Daugherty and Otto Daugherty; his siblings, Arlys Brown (John), Hazen Palmer (Red), Patricia Cardwell, Darryll Palmer (Beth) and Sandra Stotesbery (Richard); and his sister-in-law Lucy Palmer.
